Building resilience: The multiple benefits of energy efficiency

29 June 2022

EP100 hosted this event as part of London Climate Action Week 2022, alongside hosts and EP100 member Mitie at their office in The Shard.

Buildings account for 30-40% of total global emissions, but renovation rates are still too slow to achieve the necessary reductions in emissions. The biggest transition in global working for a generation is occurring as businesses shift to long-term changes to more flexible working practices.

In this exclusive, explored how sustainable, smart & efficient buildings can help lead the way to net zero and provide additional benefits to occupant health, wellbeing & productivity.

Guest speakers:

  • Kerry Conneely, Head of UK Facilities Management - ISG
  • Mike Sewell, Director Plan Zero - Mitie (EP100 member)
  • Kavita Kumari, Associate Director - Cundall (EP100 member)
  • Pradyumna Pandit, Managing Director Sustainability & Energy - Mitie (EP100 member)
  • Toby Morgan, Senior Manager Built Environment - Climate Group

Catalysing corporate ambition on product efficiency: Building momentum on the road to COP26

30 September 2021

We cannot win the race to net-zero emissions without improving the energy efficiency of products like air conditioners, refrigerators, lighting, and electric motors - Inger Andersen, Executive Director of the United Nations Environment Programme (UNEP).

In this webinar, we briefed senior climate decision makers from numerous global companies on how they could support the freshly launched COP26 Product Efficiency Call to Action by joining EP100.

We pitched the EP100 initiative and two of our members – Trane Technologies and Mahindra & Mahindra – showcased their membership:

  • the opportunities and challenges of setting their corporate energy efficiency target; and,
  • the company benefits they are now enjoying as a result.

EP100, in partnership with the UK Government, the IEA and others, launched the COP26 Product Efficiency Call to Action in September 2021. It was announced as the largest ever commitment to product efficiency on Energy Day at COP26! The Call to Action aims to double the efficiency of four key products (air conditioners, refrigerators, lights and industrial motor systems) by 2030.

EP100 India members roundtable

13 July 2021

Advancing the decarbonisation of buildings in India is a movement which is gaining ever-greater momentum, and key India-based corporates are beginning to make climate commitments in this area. However, knowledge and real-world experience on how corporates can apply the buildings decarbonisation lens to their climate leadership efforts remains limited.

This EP100 members-only roundtable provided our India-based corporates with an overview of EP100's Net-Zero Carbon Buildings Commitment, which is delivered in partnership with the World Green Building Council. We also heard lessons learned from Brandix, a Sri Lankan headquartered apparel manufacturer, who, as an EP100 member, have successfully applied the commitment to their operations.

The roundtable also provided an EP100 global update and India update on campaign activities and member opportunities.
